The new Sam is looking to steer her life in a new direction so she volunteers to help the needy. She is quite excited about taking a trip to Africa, where she hopes to be useful to some people who desperately need the help. However, her family and friends are confident that Sam will not fulfill her commitment and will soon drop the idea of the trip.
When Sam comes to know about the countless vaccinations and obstacles that she would have to undergo, even before she can commence the trip, she starts having cold feet and ultimately chickens out of the plan to go Africa.
Feeling embarrassed and not wanting to be ridiculed by family and friends, who had predicted about her not going on the trip Sam decides to keep up the facade of being out of the country. So, in order to continue the ruse that she is actually out of country, Sam goes into hiding with her two closest friends Dena and Andrea while the family thinks that she has actually gone to Africa.
