“Help” has really helped!
I said it really helped, because this episode earned highest ratings among the season two episodes aired till now. Although in this episode, Sam is badly in need of help, but this episode helped the show to win network guys’ hearts. It was because of high ratings of this particular episode that ABC has ordered for some more episodes for 2008-2009 season. This is one of the few new shows this year which are in their first or second seasons and have succeeded to extend with a few more episodes.
Anyways, let’s come back the basic point and that is episode “Help”. It was obvious for this episode to earn such high rankings and sound number of viewers. In this episode, Sam gets in a series of uninvited and unexpected troubles.
First of all, she gets into fight with a cop in traffic, and he gives her a damn good punishment. He sentences her with hours of community service. Well, angelic Sam initially takes it as her pleasure. But lately this soul soothing job turns a bit sour, when she tries to help a rebellious girl named Natalie.
Poor Sam believes that everybody can transform into a good person like happened to her. She forgets that she changed due to amnesia and she doesn’t remember her true personality. On the other hand, Natalie has totally different intentions for her. She wants Sam to be the old Sam. Now efforts of both ladies create funny situations.
All nears and dears of Sam advice her to not to do anything for Natalie. But Sam is Sam and she is obsessed to do something good Natalie. Consequently, she steps down in the battle field. She wants to make Natalie a respectable person in society instead of an obstinate thief. On the contrary, Natalie leaves no stone behind in exasperating Sam’s dear ones. Meanwhile, Sam arranges a job interview for Natalie, and no need to tell what could have happened. You guys are smart enough.
Aside from this, Todd receives advice from Howard, Sam’s father regarding winning Sam back, though Todd doesn’t seem interested. It will be pleasant surprise for me if they reunite in further episodes. Wait and watch.
