Tim Russ was born on 22 June 1956 in Washington D.C, USA, to a state government employee mother- Josephine and an Air Force officer father-Walt. His father being in Air force, moved to various military bases along with his family, including his three children Michael, Angela and Tim. They lived at Niagara Falls, Elmendorf, Omaha (Alaska) AFB, Taiwan, Philippines and Turkey military bases. Tim did graduated from Izmir High School in Turkey and completed his diploma from Rome Free Academy in Rome, New York. He did B.S in Theatre Arts from St. Edwards University, Austin and continued Theatre studies from the Illinois State University for which he earned a full scholarship. He lives in Los angles with his family. He has one child named Madison Camille.
His first job was in a PBS Masterpiece Theatre Production when he was still a student in St. Edwards University. His career as a full time actor started in 1985; he did many TV shows and movies at that time. Some of work he did during that time includes-‘The Twilight Zone‘& ‘Amazing stories’. Then in 1987 he appeared in ‘Thirty something‘, ‘Jake and the Fatman’, ‘21 Jump Street‘& ‘Beauty and the Beast’. In 1989, came ‘The People Next-door’, ‘Mancuso, FBI’, and ‘Family Matters’. He appeared in many more roles in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ (1990), ‘SeaQuest DSV‘ (1993), ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ (1995), ‘Star Trek: the Next Generation‘ (1987), ‘Any Day Now’ (1998), etc. He acted in many films like ‘Crossroads‘ (1986), ‘Spaceballs’ (1987),’Bird‘ (1988), ‘Eve of Destruction’ (1991), ‘Dead silence’ (1997), ‘Unbeatable Harold’(2005), ‘Twenty Good Years’(2006), etc. He appeared for a guest role in ‘ER‘ (2005). He is known for his extensive work for ‘Star Trek Franchise’ as a voice and film actor, writer, director and producer. He played “Devor” in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ (1993), and Lieutenant Commander Tuvok in ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ (1995-2001). He also appeared in season six of ‘Star Trek: Deep Space 9′ (1993). He is the one of the actors who appears in ten different seasons of Star Trek. He is currently playing the role of “Frank” in an ABC comedy ‘Samantha Who’ and as “Principal Franklin” in a Nickelodeon show ‘iCarly‘ besides appearing as Agent Summers in Live Free or Die Hard.
