Samantha is the main character of the series “Samantha Who?” Her loved ones call her Sam. She is a thirty year old vice president of a real estate firm. The entire story revolves around her life, as she goes into coma after a hit and run accident. When she wakes up after eight days of unconsciousness, she suffers from retrograde amnesia. Now everybody around her tries to bring the old Samantha back by recalling past events. Interestingly, during the process she learns that she was so cruel towards others. She takes her amnesia as an opportunity to change herself into a good person.
She makes efforts to gain her good relationships back and to mend all of her wrong decisions. She starts a relationship with Todd, whom she had rejected in the past. Todd and Samantha start living together in her apartment. She is taking pills to regain her memory. Eventually encounters a few flashbacks. She learns that accident happened after she was coming back after meeting Todd in a coffee shop, where she rejected his proposal.

Life and Career- She is an Emmy award winning American actress. She belongs to a celebrity family. She’s daughter of Record producer and Record company executive Robert W, Applegate and singer/actress Nancy Lee Priddy. Her parents separated shortly after her birth. She’s a born star. She appeared in “Days of Our Lives” along with her mother at the age of three months. When she turned five she appeared in ‘Playtex’ commercials. At reaching nine, she got her big break in 1981 film “Jaws of Satan”. In the same year she appeared in film “Beatlemania”. After two years she got the title role in TV movie “Grace Kelly”.
She got her first TV role in political comedy “Washington” in 1985. After this she earned guest roles in “Father Murphy” and “Charles in Charge” in subsequent years.
Aside from this, during 80s and 90s, she has worked in many TV series like “Heart of the City”, “Family Ties”, “Married……with Children” “Street”, “Saturday Night Live”, “Mad TV”, “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead” and many more. In the same period she got film credits like “Vibrations”, “Across the Moon” and a few others.
She got People’s Choice Award in the category of Favorite Female Performer in a new TV Series for her role in “Jesse” in 1998. She also got TV Guide Award for Star of a New Series and a nomination in Golden Globe in category of Lead actress in a Comedy for the same role. The show got cancelled in 2000. Since then she has continuously bagged roles in a variety of TV series. She has also remained the executive producer of “Comforters” and “Miserable”. You can also watch her in two episodes of “Friends” for two episodes of ninth and tenth season. She won 55th Annual Prime Time Emmy Award for this role of Amy Green as the Best Guest Actress in a Comedy. Currently she is playing the lead role in “Samantha Who” and her upcoming project is movie “Everything Is Going to Be Just Fine” to be released in 2009.
Applegate got married to her long time boy friend Jonathon Schaech, but he filed for divorce in 2005.
